Mac DeMarco has a new album coming out on May 5th called This Old Dog. Today he’s shared two tracks off that album called ‘My Old Man’ and ‘This Old Dog’. ‘My Old Man’ is a mellow acoustic track with a backing casio-style drum loop. ‘This Old Dog’ is also a more subdued version of the Mac DeMarco we’re used to which may indicate a change in direction for the new album. Neither song feature his signature guitar sound that so many others have started to copy, which is actually a bit refreshing. I’m a huge fan when artists evolve and experiment with new styles. You gotta evolve if you want to stay interesting and relevant.
